New mineral edition composed by a few spanish classic Cinnabars from the Almadén mine in Ciudad Real showing very lustrous crystals with a blood red color. Some of the pieces have small drops of interstitial native Mercury as well.
The ancient mercury mines at Almaden have been in production since the Roman age, 2000 years ago. The Almaden mines closed some years ago. These specimens come from a spanish former collection.

good sample from Almadén with crystallized Cinnabar.

This specimen consists of an aggregate of small crystals of Cinnabar on a matrix of white Dolomite. Very nice piece with lustrous crystals with a blood red color.
