AN04- Fluorapatite with Dolomite and Albite. La Marina mine, Pauna, Boyacá, Colombia.

 


Excellent prismatic crystal of Fluorapatite with very well defined faces and edges. It has a vivid pink color and lustrous faces which enhances on the matrix of white crystals of Dolomite and Albite. This one is a high quality Colombian Fluorapatite specimen, very hard to find nowadays. This piece comes from the last find, in late 2016. The size of the Apatite crystal is very large for the specie and the locality, it measures 2.5 cm x 1.5 cm. Watch video.

It is composed of a group of metalic silvery twinned crystals of Bournonite with very well defined faces and edges and displaying the classic cogwheel shape.
